Sharing Information With the Seniors of Northwest Missouri

According to information received by the Agency, it appears that the entire home delivered meal appropriation that the legislature cut last year, then covered with stimulus funds and pledged their intent to restore this year, has been cut again. Changes would become effective July 1, 2010.

This Fact Sheet outlines the details of the problems that result from these types of funding cuts.

If this is approved, nearly $80,000 would have to be cut from the home delivered meals program in our 18-county area.  Because of the importance of this service to recipients of home delivered meals, interested parties are being urged to contact their legislators to let them know the impact this cut would have on them or on family members and friends.

We encourage people to make their voices heard, now and throughout the process.

Handwritten letters and emails can be directed to your Senators and Representatives and share your thoughts on this issue, here is contact information for your use.

Interested individuals might want to follow the process through online or printed  sources, radio or television.
